In the News: Management professor Mahesh Subramony on four-day work week

On January 21, 2022, WGN News aired a segment with NIU Department of Management Professor Mahesh Subramony, who discussed the movement toward a four-day work week, particularly in light of the tight labor market caused in large part by the disruptive effects of COVID-19.

Subramony shared some of the ways some companies and countries have approached the idea and implications of a four-day work week. He also shared the possible ways it could continue to play out, both abroad and in the U.S. as well.

Professor Subramony’s insights into the four-day work week was also featured on Fox News Chicago and in a radio news program distributed by WBBM Radio.

Professor Subramony is a faculty member in the NIU College of Business Department of Management. He teaches business strategy, leadership, human resources and lean methodology.
