The Northern Illinois University Career Fair fast approaches and with it comes a multitude of ways for NIU students to do their best. The fair is hosted by the university’s Career Services office, which offers a wide variety of career resources. Many are listed below along with upcoming specialty career fairs specific to NIU College of Business majors.
September 21st. Career Fair Prep Workshop: Virtual via Huskies Get Hired (virtual event)
This workshop-style event prepares students to attend a virtual career fair and is open to all NIU students. There is no fee to attend. Topics include navigating a virtual career fair, tips for becoming comfortable with a video chat, developing your 30-second speech, professional appearance and researching companies.
September 22nd. IT/STEM Fair – Virtual via Huskies Get Hired (virtual event)
Specific to the IT, science, engineering and math fields, the IT/STEM Fair provides an opportunity for students, alumni and community members interested in these career paths to connect with employers from these fields. No fee for candidates to attend. This virtual event runs from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. For detailed information on how to attend, check the calendar listing.
September 23rd. Accountancy Fall Career Fair (virtual event)
The Accountancy Department provides an opportunity for currently enrolled accounting students to connect with employers for internships and full-time positions. The Career Fair is open to upper-level accountancy majors who have met the requirements to enroll in ACCY 310 and to accountancy graduate students. The fair is free for candidates to attend. September 27th. Digital Marketing and Professional Sales Talent Night (face to face event)
The Department of Marketing presents the “Digital Marketing and Professional Sales Talent Night.” This annual event hosts more than 30 firms looking to recruit students for entry-level positions. All majors are welcome. Event time and location: Monday, September 27 at 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Holmes Student Center, Duke Ellington Ballroom. Contact kburke5@niu.edu for more information.
September 29th. OM&IS Meet the Firm Night (virtual event)
Open to all OM&IS students within the NIU College of Business (both undergraduate and graduate students). At Meet the Firm Night, students will get to know companies that have hired OM&IS students in the past. Companies will have the opportunity to promote your company and talk to our students interested in the fields of operations management, logistics and information systems. September 30th. Finance Meet the Firm (virtual event)
Meet the Firm is a NIU career fair designed specifically for students looking for finance roles and internships. For finance students, this is a fantastic opportunity to network with employers and obtain interviews. This event will take place virtually from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. October 6th. All Majors Internship and Job Fair – Virtual via Huskies Get Hired
NIU Career Services’ All-Majors Internship and Job Fair provides an opportunity for students and alumni to connect with employers for internships, full-time, part-time, and student employment positions. The Internship and Job Fair is open to undergraduates, graduating seniors, graduate students, alumni and non-NIU candidates. The fair is free for candidates to attend. The event runs from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
October 19th. Graduate Student and Professional School Fair – Virtual via Huskies Get Hired
Students, alumni, and community members who are interested in finding out more about graduate and professional school can visit with recruiters to gather information from a variety of graduate and professional school programs.
