The NIU College of Business is excited to announce our newly redesigned One-Year Chicago MBA Program at MATTER, the global healthcare incubator and innovation hub located in
theMART. Starting August 2023, our program will be offered in a hybrid format combining live synchronous online sessions and in-person sessions delivered at MATTER. Our collaborative arrangement with MATTER offers students hands-on learning opportunities, access to business and technology professionals as well as industry-leading solutions.

“We continue to see a significant shift in the working environment around the downtown Chicago area,” said Anthony Preston, assistant dean, graduate business programs. “Our corporate partners confirmed that professionals are returning to the office a few days a week, but working from home is here to stay. This change has required us to rethink our delivery format. Our redesign combines live online synchronous sessions and in-person meetings for faculty and students to engage in meaningful discussions and learn from each other’s experiences while making it accessible, flexible and convenient for the post-pandemic life of working professionals.”
In this new format, our One-Year Chicago MBA program will meet on Tuesday and Thursday evenings with each course taken one night a week for eight weeks. Our hybrid format will include six online synchronous class sessions and two in-person class meetings. While the delivery format for our One-Year Chicago MBA has evolved, it continues to offer the same career-enhancing benefits. Our program challenges students to reimagine their future and prepare them for the ever-changing business environment by focusing on leadership development and career growth. This program includes career coaching, leadership development, a nine-day, international immersion residency trip, all course materials, refreshments on class meetings and concierge services at a market-competitive tuition rate.
