NIU Business students Brandon Valdez, Jacquelyn Brown, Karissa Blodgett, and Shawn MacDougall won first place at the 8th Annual Illinois State SHRM Student Conference and Case Competition. SHRM is the Society for Human Resource Management professionals. The students represent the university’s SHRM student chapter. Ten NIU students attended the conference and participated in multiple professional development events devoted to the human resources profession. Sponsored by the Illinois State Council of SHRM, the conference and competition took place on April 6-7th. Congratulations to the students and to SHRM faculty advisor Terry Bishop for his commitment and support in providing opportunities for students to develop their HR knowledge and professional networks.
