The article — SEC looking at reducing auditor reviews at smaller companies — examines the SEC’s efforts to relax regulations in order to increase IPO activity. The article includes findings from Zimmerman’s research paper, entitled, “The JOBS Act disclosure exemptions: Some early evidence.” In addition, Zimmerman was contacted directly by the outlet and provided her views on the possible impact on smaller firms if these modifications to SEC regulations go through.
Professor Zimmerman’s research interests include audit quality, audit pricing, audit market composition, auditor judgment and decision making and the labor markets for auditors and also accounting faculty. She has taught survey of accounting, financial (intermediate) accounting and assurance services/audit courses.
